About Us

Young Pete

Some kids grow up on ball fields, Pete grew up in a workshop

From a childhood business of building storage sheds with his family, to establishing a custom cabinet shop 20 years later, Pete Swita has been excelling at woodworking most of his life. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1985 with a degree in engineering and worked in the wood window industry while enjoying his side job of cabinetmaking. He now owns a flourishing business creating custom cabinets and more near Wausau, Wisconsin.

Growing to keep up with demand

In the spring of 2005, Pete and his wife, Karla, built a new manufacturing facility and showroom in Mosinee. With a team of talented cabinetmakers, Swita Cabinetry has gained a solid reputation for custom cabinets in  Wisconsin and beyond.

More options to love

Swita Cabinetry continues to expand product lines, including countertops, hardware, organizing systems and millwork. Showplace Wood Products, USA, a semi-custom cabinet line, was added in 2009 to meet the demands of a changing marketplace and growing customer base. And in 2018, Karla added Chalk Paint® in response to the DIY trend of painting your own cabinetry, like vanities and islands.

Our work matters every day

Our skilled craftsmen have years of experience and employ today’s most sophisticated technology combined with time-tested construction techniques that keep our cabinets working beautifully every day. The crew truly cares about the final product and how happy it makes customers.

Customers trust Us

We feel blessed to have customers who trust us to make their spaces exceptional. Our cabinetry gets to be part of their most important events and every day encounters. Like when Carol and Fred have lunch with the grandkids around their grand maple island, or when Sandy and Steve make Thanksgiving dinner for the family. We’re grateful for every life we impact with beautiful, functional, long-lasting cabinets and countertops.
